Situated at the foot of the northern slope of the Loire, Limeray lies at the heart of the Val de Loire, inscribed in 2000 on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It also forms part of the pays d'art et d'histoire as one of the 58 communes of the Pays de Loire Touraine surrounding Amboise, placed at the heart of the châteaux de la Loire.
