A little history
Archaeological remains attest to human presence at Lézat as far back as the Neolithic period (5000 to 2000 years before Christ). Excavations undertaken by Urbain Gondal (1905–1975), a historian, brought to light several Gallo-Roman mosaics and Solidus coins, including a valentinius. The commune is rich in rural Gallo-Roman settlements.
