Le Bousquet-d'Orb (pronounced [lə buskɛ dɔʁb], in Occitan Lo Bosquet d'Òrb) is a French commune situated in the north of the département of Hérault in the region of Occitanie. Exposed to a Mediterranean climate, it is crossed by the Orb, the Graveson, the ruisseau de Vernazoubres and various other small watercourses. Included within the parc naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc, the commune possesses a natural heritage comprising a zone naturelle d'intérêt écologique, faunistique et floristique.
A little history
The commune of Le Bousquet d'Orb arose from the merger of the domaine de Clémensan and the Mas du Bousquet, two places separated by the ruisseau du Rouffiac. The domaine de Clémensan previously belonged to the commune of Lunas whilst the Mas du Bousquet belonged to the commune of Boussagues. Clemens is the Latin form of the first name or surname Clément. The Romans frequently gave rural properties the name of their owner.
