A little history
La Turballe was established as a commune in 1865, but its history stretches back to 854. Traces of settlements, megaliths and engraved stones dating back to 3000 BC are still visible today in the hamlets and districts of Brandu, Coispéan, Kevodué and Trévaly, bearing witness to human presence in these places since the prehistoric era. Celtic peoples from central Europe then settled in the region. The Roman conquest led to the structuring of the territory.
