La Chevrolière [la.ʃəvʁɔljɛʁ] is a commune in the west of France, situated in the département of Loire-Atlantique, in the région Pays de la Loire. The commune forms part of historic Brittany, in the traditional pays of pays de Retz and in the historic pays of Pays nantais. Its inhabitants are called les Chevrolins and les Chevrolines.
A little history
Château des Huguetières (19th century) and chapelle Notre-Dame des Ombres. The fief of des Huguetières passed under the authority of Machecoul, then under that of Châteaubriant, before coming under the barony of Retz. In the 15th century, the château des Huguetières was the seat of an important lordship that held sway over 17 parishes of the pays de Grand Lieu. It is in the commune of La Chevrolière that the main access to the lac de Grand Lieu is found, namely the village of Passay, a former parish chief-lieu.
