Juvignac [ʒy.vi.ɲak] (in Occitan Juvinhac [d͡ʒy.βi.'ɲak]) is a French commune situated in the east of the département of Hérault in the Occitanie region, to the west of Montpellier. Juvignac is above all known for its golf course (golf de Juvignac-Fontcaude), its 19th-century thermal baths (and its Vichy Spa) and its garrigue scrubland.
A little history
In 219 BC, Hannibal stopped there before resuming his march towards the Alps and Italy. In 799, Juvignac was recognised as the chief town of a Carolingian fisc. Given to the Archbishop of Narbonne in 893 by Charles le Simple, the land became a seigneury in 898.
