A little history
In the Middle Ages, Grandchamp-des-Fontaines formed a vicaria (a type of administrative district, see viguerie). Another source considers that Grandchamp was a vicus, a small settlement of the early Middle Ages smaller than a vicaria. A villa was to be found at Grandchamp. The settlement was situated along a Roman road linking Curette and Casson.
