A little history
The site has been inhabited since the 11th century. The earliest documents mentioning it date from 1098. The roads leading to the town are ancient, and the one between Douvrin and Haisnes dates back to the Roman Empire (Agrippa, son-in-law of Augustus). The existence of the mairie de Douvrin dates back to 1229.
