A little history
During the First World War, the British established a strategic base in the region. These installations are known as the Camp Vendroux because they were largely located in Coulogne, on the lands belonging to this family. Over a considerable area, wooden huts were erected in order to store war materials (ammunition, barbed wire) as well as cereals. In all, nearly 35,000 soldiers, of all origins, were busy in the Calaisis, transforming the commune into a cosmopolitan settlement.
