A little history
Habitation of the Orléans region began as early as the Gallo-Roman period. The region constitutes a passage point along the Loire. At Chécy, traces of a crossroads of Roman roads were found, linking Orléans (passing through Saint-Jean-de-Braye), Paris, Gien and Sens. Furthermore, the Romans planted the first vines, in the vicinity of the Loire, and this activity would persist until the 20th century.
