Chabris is a French commune situated in the département of Indre, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. Exposed to an altered oceanic climate, it is drained by the Cher, the Fouzon and two small watercourses. The commune has a Natura 2000 site.
A little history
The presence of people on the territory of the commune during prehistoric times is attested by the discovery of Neolithic flint flakes in various locations within the commune. At the end of the 5th century, saint Phalier withdrew as a hermit to the vicinity of Chabris. He died there around 525. In the 12th century, Robert d'Arbrissel established, as a dependency of the order of Fontevraud, a convent of sisters at Glatigny, dependent on the priory of Orsan.
