A little history
In the Sologne, human penetration, slowly begun since the first Iron Age along the main watercourses, was intensified by the arrival of the Carnutes. Thus Beuvron, the river of the bièvres (beavers), is a Gaulish name. The site of Cellettes, surrounded by woodland, may have found itself away from Roman penetration, as later from the arrival of the Normans, both of which came through the valleys of the Loire and the Cher (and not the Beuvron). In the sanctoral of the RP Bénédictins, éditions Letouzey & Ané 1936, it is noted that Mondry (Mundericus) d'Arisitum is said to have been the holder of a bishopric founded around 570 in Austrasia.
