A little history
The monument aux morts bears the names of 160 soldiers who died for their country. 143 died during the First World War. 15 died during the Second World War. 1 died during the guerre d'Algérie. 1 died during the guerre d'Indochine. In March 1974, an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease struck the east of the département des Côtes-du-Nord particularly hard, notably the communes of Caulnes, Guitté and Plumaugat. A sanitary cordon was put in place around the affected farms, the farms were disinfected and footbaths were installed at the entrances to the buildings.
