A little history
On the territory of Carquefou, during the Gallo-Roman period, there existed a locality, Arlèze, whose exact location has not been established. Remains of Gallic and Gallo-Roman farms have been discovered in the quarters of bois Saint-Lys and la Bréchetière. In 851, the region came under Breton control, and Carquefou became part of the kingdom and later the duchy of Bretagne. Within the feudal system, the territory formed part of the comté and sénéchaussée of Nantes until the Revolution.
