Broons [bʁɔ̃] is a French commune, the chief town of the canton de Broons, located in the département des Côtes-d'Armor in the region of Bretagne. It is a commune of the Poudouvre, a traditional area of Haute-Bretagne. Its inhabitants are known as the Broonais or Broonnais and the Broonaises.
A little history
Human occupation has been attested at Broons since Prehistory, notably during the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. Bronze wedges were discovered at the lieu-dit le Pont du Château. In the Gaulish period, Broons was situated in the territory of the Coriosolites, whose capital was at Aleth. Serrated, saw-edged flint arrowheads were discovered while ploughing a field at Broons.
