It was formed from the merger of the former communes of Les Alleuds, Brissac-Quincé, Charcé-Saint-Ellier-sur-Aubance, Chemellier, Coutures, Luigné, Saint-Rémy-la-Varenne, Saint-Saturnin-sur-Loire, Saulgé-l'Hôpital and Vauchrétien, which became delegated communes.
A little history
The new commune of Brissac Loire Aubance was created by prefectural decree on 7 September 2016 through the merger on 15 December of that same year of the ten communes of Les Alleuds, Brissac-Quincé, Charcé-Saint-Ellier-sur-Aubance, Chemellier, Coutures, Luigné, Saint-Rémy-la-Varenne, Saint-Saturnin-sur-Loire, Saulgé-l'Hôpital and Vauchrétien, which became delegated communes. Its administrative centre was established at Brissac-Quincé. For the history prior to 2016, reference should be made to the articles devoted to the former merged communes.
