A little history
Created by a prefectoral order of 2 November 2015, the new commune of Bellevigne-en-Layon resulted from the grouping together on 1 January 2016 of the five communes of Champ-sur-Layon, Faveraye-Mâchelles, Faye-d'Anjou, Rablay-sur-Layon and Thouarcé, which became delegated communes. Its administrative centre is established at Thouarcé. For history prior to 2016, reference should be made to the articles devoted to the former merged communes.
