Beaupréau-en-Mauges [bopʁ(e)o ɑ̃ moʒ] is a new French commune situated in the département of Maine-et-Loire, in the region of Pays de la Loire, created on 15 December 2015. It was formed from the merger of the former communes of Andrezé, Beaupréau, La Chapelle-du-Genêt, Gesté, Jallais, La Jubaudière, Le Pin-en-Mauges, La Poitevinière, Saint-Philbert-en-Mauges and Villedieu-la-Blouère.
A little history
The new commune of Beaupréau-en-Mauges was created by order of 24 September 2015 through the merger on 15 December 2015 of the ten communes of the communauté de communes du Centre-Mauges, namely Andrezé, Beaupréau, La Chapelle-du-Genêt, Gesté, Jallais, La Jubaudière, Le Pin-en-Mauges, La Poitevinière, Saint-Philbert-en-Mauges and Villedieu-la-Blouère, which became délégué communes. The seat of the commune moved to the site of la Loge, in the délégué commune of Beaupréau. This new building, which had been intended to house the seat of the communauté de communes du Centre-Mauges, became the town hall of Beaupréau-en-Mauges. The commune's services moved into the premises on 18 January 2016.
