A little history
Roman remains are present, notably the discovery, while ploughing a field in 1561, of a large quantity of Roman coins from the era of Néron (38–68 AD) mixed in gold, silver and copper, along with small cinerary urns and vials. This treasure was presumed to have been hidden during the time of Vespasien. It was given to the duc d'Arschot by the abbé d'Anchin.
