Annezin is a French commune situated in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region. Its inhabitants are called the Annezinois. The commune is a member of the communauté d'agglomération de Béthune-Bruay, Artois-Lys Romane.
A little history
The moulin d'Annezin, on the Lawe, is mentioned as early as the year 1095. A château existed from the 12th century. It was rebuilt in 1555 by Charles II de Houchin (then lord of the area), and was subsequently severely damaged in the early 18th century during the French conquest of the region. The château was restored in the 1770s but remained unoccupied at the time of the Revolution. The Cassini maps of the 18th century show the "château de Longatte", the Houchin family being lords of Longatte (or Longastre).
