A little history
The family de Voisins, then Gilbert de Voisins. The seigneurs de Voisins came from three different eponymous families. The first was a family de Voisins from Île-de-France, then a family de Voisins from Languedoc, who took part in the Croisade des Albigeois alongside Simon de Monfort, and finally the family Gilbert de Voisins, who came from Franche-Comté. For a period, the land belonged to the family of Simon de Villeneuve. Among the seigneurs de Voisins, one of the most notable was Pierre VI Gilbert de Voisins (1684–1769), conseiller d'Etat.
