Vielle-Aure is a French commune situated in the south-east of the département of Hautes-Pyrénées, in the région of Occitanie. Historically and culturally, the commune lies within the Pays d'Aure, which comprises the valley of the Neste (downstream of Sarrancolin), the valley d'Aure (upstream of Sarrancolin) and the valley du Louron. Exposed to a mountain climate, it is drained by the Neste, the ruisseau Saint-Jacques and various other small watercourses.
