A little history
In 28 BC, during the reign of the emperor Auguste, Valerius Messala emerged victorious from his struggle against one of the last pockets of resistance of the Aquitaine tribe of the Campani on a hill at Pouzac. The Romans discovered there the warm waters flowing from the mont Olivet. Around the thermal baths that were built, a town appeared, which reached a size equal to half the surface area of Bagnères at the beginning of the 21st century. From the end of the Roman Empire until 1171, no document or relic provides any information on local history.
