A little history
The oldest burial found in Vénissieux was discovered in 1999, beneath the current place de la Paix. The fairly complete skeleton of this man has been dated to the final Bronze Age, between 1490 and 1265 BC. Domestic structures, including ditches and a hearth, were also found there, attesting to a very ancient human occupation of Vénissieux.
