A little history
A dependency of the abbaye de Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Valenton came into being from the 6th century with the establishment of a first rural community. The seat of two seigneuries in the 13th century, the commune's principal activity was viticulture. In 1726, the village had no more than 250 inhabitants. And nearly two hundred years later, the population had still not exceeded 1,000 inhabitants.
