Val en Vignes is a new French commune created on 1 January 2017, situated in the département of Deux-Sèvres in the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. It brings together the former communes of Cersay, Bouillé-Saint-Paul, Saint-Pierre-à-Champ and Massais.
A little history
The new commune was created by the prefectural order of 24 November 2016, with effect from 1 January 2017. It is worth noting that in the order signed by the prefect, the spelling of the new commune does not conform to the rules of French typography. Indeed, the commune ought to have been named Val-en-Vignes. The commune resulted from the merger of the three communes of Bouillé-Saint-Paul, Cersay and Massais, which became delegated communes. Its chief town is located at Cersay.
