A little history
The territory of the commune has been the site of human occupation since the Palaeolithic and then during the Neolithic period, as attested by numerous objects found by farmers or during the digging of the canal de l'Ourcq. The present village was established around the source of the Sausset, a small river on the plaine de France. The town takes its name from the Latin Tremuletum, the wood of aspens or white poplars. The France referred to is the Pays de France, an agricultural plain to the north-east of Paris where the town is located.
