A little history
Sanguinet is the fourth village to have been established, over time, in roughly the same location. It was long populated by around a hundred villagers. The first village was established near the lake, at the crossing of the Gourgue, a small river that feeds the lake, and was submerged by rising waters. In the Roman era it is found referred to as Losa. It formed part of the Bogensis Pagus along with Cazaux and La Teste-de-Buch.
