A little history
The château de Biscarrosse, originally a modest house with 4 rooms and 2 towers, dates from the 12th century. However, it was transformed into a château in the Renaissance style in the 16th century. It is possible that it served on occasion as a holiday retreat for the Prince Noir, Edouard de Woodstock, during the Hundred Years War. The first written record attesting to the legal existence of Biscarrosse is a charter confirming the subsequent privileges of its inhabitants.
