A little history
A Roman military camp was built on the butte de Morlanne around 56 BC. Several ancient documents record the presence within this Castra romanum of the Palestrion, a residence of the Roman governor. In the 4th century, a Gallo-Roman villa existed at the lieu-dit Gleyzia, in the Augreilh quarter, which was excavated in 1870 and between 1969 and 1984.
