A peri-urban commune within the urban area of Paris, it is located around thirty kilometres to the south-west of the French capital, in the vicinity of the scientific and technological hub of Paris-Saclay. It forms an integral part of the parc naturel régional Haute Vallée de Chevreuse.
A little history
The current église Saint-Rémy dates from the 12th century. The commune falls under the seigneury of Chevreuse in the 17th century. In 1696, the château de Coubertin was built. In 1867, the gare de Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse opened on the ligne de Sceaux Paris-Limours.
