A little history
Nothing was known about the human origins on the territory of the commune until recent years. Preventive excavations carried out in 2022 on the construction site for the extension of metro ligne B from the gare d'Oullins to Saint-Genis-Laval uncovered traces of occupation dating back to the Bronze Age, on either side of the rue Francisque-Darcieux, including post holes from pile-supported buildings, the remains of five to six human bodies, and pits that had been used as grain silos. Two of these, whose purpose is highly uncertain, contain the bones of whole animals (a deer with its legs bound and seven pig skeletons).
