A little history
Les Mures was the former name of the village, as well as that of the neighbouring village, today known as Saint-Laurent-de-Mure. In the 7th century, the new parish of Saint Bonet emerged from the Roman franchises, the « pagus lugdunensis », and passed into the hands of the archbishop-counts of the diocese of Lyon. At that time dependent on the archipresbyterate of Meyzieu, it chose saint Bonet as its patron. On certain old maps, Saint Laurent, Mure and the monastery of Poulieu appear separately, with St Bonnet being absent.
