Géographiquement, le territoire de la commune de Roybon est très étendu et couvre une bonne partie du plateau de Chambaran à l'ouest du département de l'Isère et dont le territoire a fait l'objet d'un projet (abandonné en 2020) de centre de vacances, comprenant la construction d'un village de vacances et d'un espace aqualudique, situés en pleine forêt.
