A little history
The ancient origin of the town is attested by the discovery in 1992, 1 km to the south-west of the village near the bridge on the D 27, of several fragments of about ten vases, small blocks of pink fired clay encrusted with plant matter, and fragments of a bowl with an internal handle whose design makes it possible to date the find to between the 2nd and 1st centuries BC and the 1st century AD. Before the arrival of the Romans, Arrion was situated on the former territory of the Aquitanian people of the Cocosates.
