Réhon is a French commune located in the north of the département of Meurthe-et-Moselle, in the Grand Est region. Its inhabitants are known as the Réhonnais.
A little history
A former parish of the diocese of Trèves. The commune, established by the French Revolution, absorbed that of Heumont between 1790 and 1794, then that of Mexy in 1812, which regained its communal autonomy in 1879. The town of Réhon is principally known for its steelmaking, with the usine de la Providence, whose production ceased in 1987. The Société des Laminoirs, Hauts-Fourneaux, Fonderies et Usines de la Providence lit two blast furnaces at Réhon in 1866, creating a works named La Providence Réhon, then a third in 1878.
