Questembert [kɛstɑ̃bɛʁ] is a French commune situated in the département of Morbihan, in the région of Bretagne. The town is the chief town of the canton de Questembert and the centre of Questembert Communauté.
A little history
Numerous remains dating from the Neolithic, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age have been discovered on the territory of the commune. Chests of cylindrical form were unearthed and identified as ossaria, that is to say funerary urns typical of Vénète rural necropolises. This interpretation is nonetheless disputed. The ancient road linking Rieux to Vannes crosses the territory of Questembert and appears to follow the same course as the current road from Vannes to Redon.
