A little history
Built on a hill, it owes its name to the local tribes who had once chosen this spot to settle their disputes with their fists. From the Neolithic period, near the village of Pugnac, in the localities of Fontarabie, la Grosse Pierre, la Pointe, Gravier, Viaud, Rivereau, les Communaux, Peugeais, Lartigueon, numerous lithic tools have been recorded. From the Gallo-Roman period, at the locality of Gravier, near the RD 137, and at Lassalle, near the Moron, various artefacts and a villa from the Gallo-Roman period were discovered. The merger of the commune of Lafosse with the commune had failed in the time of the Gauls.
