Cenon (pronounced [sənɔ̃]) (in Occitan/Gascon, Senon) is a commune in the South-West of France situated in the département of the Gironde, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, forming part of Bordeaux Métropole. The town has become urbanised as an extension of Bordeaux, with which it shares a border to the east. Its inhabitants are called the Cenonnais.
A little history
In Gascon the town is named Senon, pronounced [səˈnuŋ]. The Bâillon d'Estiveau factory was built in 1901 and enlarged in 1932. The company produced reconstituted stones and it operated until 1950. In 1920, a War brand universal press was used there.
