A little history
During the days of 25 and 27 June 1944, the German troops of the École de Pionniers de Cosne-sur-Loire, residing in the barracks of the 85e régiment d'infanterie de ligne, carried out various operations in Thauvenay and Prémery, using lorries requisitioned during the day of 24 June whose drivers and escorts had been interned in the barracks.
