A little history
A necropolis from the Bronze Age was discovered around 1870. Until the 11th century, the town was of little importance. The parish was created in 1061 by Hugues II, bishop of Nevers. Halfway between Nevers and la Charité-sur-Loire, the town suffered from the knock-on effects of events taking place in those two towns.
