A little history
The first traces of human occupation on the territory of the commune date back to the Middle Palaeolithic, where several surface sites were identified at the lieu-dits La Rieppe and Côte la Baume. In addition to these two sites, a Mesolithic and Neolithic deposit was discovered at La Perrière Tournier. The town of Port-sur-Saône was founded approximately 1,500 years ago, under the name of Port Abucin. A Roman road passed through the site of Port.
