Poix-de-Picardie is a French commune situated in the département de la Somme, in the région Hauts-de-France.
A little history
Gautier Tyrel III, seigneur de Poix, founded a priory at the beginning of the 12th century on the site of the current parish, which he gave to the abbaye de Saint-Quentin de Beauvais. In August 1346, at the start of the Hundred Years' War, Édouard III d'Angleterre, after his failure before Beauvais and on his way to the bataille de Crécy, took and pillaged Poix as well as its château. In 1358, the Jacques occupied part of the château and set it on fire. Rebuilt, the town and the church were again burnt in 1472 by Charles le Téméraire. The commune includes an exclave made up of the territory of the former commune of Lahaye-Saint-Romain, absorbed in 1974 and situated in the vallée des Évoissons.
