A little history
The site of Plouhinec has been populated since the Neolithic period (3000 BC), as attested by numerous megaliths, notably the Alignements du Gueldro, the tumulus du Griguen and the dolmens de Kerouaren, Beg-en-Hâvre and du Mané-Bras, excavated in 1884 by Félix Gaillard. The oppidum de Mané-Coh-Castel, on the right bank of the ria d'Étel, is a promontory fort. At Mané-Véchen, excavations carried out between 2001 and 2008 uncovered the ruins of a Roman villa overlooking the mouth of the ria d'Étel, proving its occupation during the Gallo-Roman period.
