The commune was created on 1 January 2016 by a prefectural order of 25 September 2015, by the merger of six communes, under the legal framework of communes nouvelles established by law no 2010-1563 of 16 December 2010 on the reform of local authorities. The communes of Dancé, Colonard-Corubert, Nocé, Préaux-du-Perche, Saint-Aubin-des-Grois and Saint-Jean-de-la-Forêt became communes déléguées and Nocé is the chef-lieu of the commune nouvelle.
