A little history
The site of Orgeval has been inhabited since prehistory, with flint tools dated to the Neolithic period having been found there. A spring was in all likelihood exploited by the Gallo-Romans for its therapeutic properties. It was moreover rediscovered around 1708 by the physician of the abbey. Despite this, its use was abandoned around 1850.
