A little history
Orgerus was formerly known as Béconcelles. The hamlet of le Moutier, in which the church still stands today, was the chief town of the Parish. In the 9th century, Bisconcella (Béconcelles) was the centre of numerous possessions of the abbaye de Saint-Germain-des-Prés, at Garancières, Auteuil, Flexanville, Maule, Osmoy, Orvilliers etc. In Béconcelles itself, a settlement of 26 households was in serfdom to the abbey, which possessed a wood, eight hectares of land and a fairly solidly built church.
