Noisiel (pronounced [nwa.zjɛl]) is a French commune situated in the département of Seine-et-Marne in the Île-de-France region. It forms part of the eastern Paris suburbs and the new town of Marne-la-Vallée.
A little history
A flour mill has been present on the Marne at Noisiel since the 11th century. The medieval village developed around it and not far from the first église Saint-Médard. In the 15th century, on the territory of the commune, there was a river port focused on trade and the transportation of wood to Paris. From 1665 to 1675, the seigneurie of Noisiel belonged to Charles Gryun des Bordes, a member of an eminent dynasty of financiers of the 17th century.
