A little history
Remains that have revealed funerary objects dating from the Chasséen suggest that people have lived on this land since ancient times. With regard to megaliths, two listed dolmens can still be seen, named La Chambrette and the Tombeau des Martyrs. In Nivillac, flanged axes without a ring dating from the middle Bronze Age were discovered at Bodeuc, Guervinant and Le Vésigot. At Branrue, dating from the end of the Bronze Age, a significant hoard of socketed axes with a quadrangular socket and lateral ring was uncovered.
