A little history
300,000 years ago, the shaped tools found in the cliffs of Cromenac'h (Ambon) are the oldest traces of humans in the region. From 5000 to 2000 BC, men erected dolmens and used polished stone axes. In 1700 BC, tumuli were built as tombs. The one situated between Bourg Pol and Pen Mur existed until 1840. In 400 BC, Celtic peoples, the Vénètes, occupied the region between the Laïta and the Vilaine. In 56 BC, the Vénètes were defeated by Jules César.
